Four months of Benji

Four months with our beautiful boy, Benji John. Time is flying by so quickly. The days all kind of blend together and then we have these moments where we look back at photos and realise just how much he’s grown and changed!

He has started rolling over and he’s much more intentional with grabbing and holding things, loves to talk and squeal and is quick to give smiles or a giggle to just about anyone he meets. He is still waking up about 3 times/night – hoping we can reduce that to 1-2 soon 😴

A few firsts from this month – his first swim, first flight, first trip to the Highlands, and first time in a cooler climate, which means first time wearing sox! 😅

How its going living in the container together

Adding on our container extension in January has made a huge difference. We have a small living space, and a kitchen that is still a work in progress (we still need to instal cabinets) but it’s functional for now and I feel like we live in absolute luxury after living in just the 20 foot container for 8 months. We were also generously given a washing machine when Benji was born. This has saved me trying to wash reusable nappies in the shared laundry every day!

We are all sleeping in the container together, and it will stay that way until we extend again – hopefully before he turns one 🤞 He outgrew the much loved hand-woven moses basket at 2 months – we have borrowed a small crib from a friend, but he’s almost outgrown that one too, so we’ll need to build something bigger that will still fit in our space okay.

Good organisation and creativity is the key when it comes to functional storage in the small space. When my friend Rachel came to visit last month she helped me reorganise everything to make it work for us, having some fresh eyes on it all really helped! So far so good!

Here are some photos from the past few weeks!
